God is great and He has amazing plans for your life. Maybe you feel like God has forgotten you and that you don’t have a purpose anymore. Maybe your shortcomings before God and others have made you feel unworthy. But let me tell you that God still has a plan for your life. It doesn’t matter what you’ve gone through or what you’ve done, God wants you to know that He loves you and He hasn’t forgotten you.
The problems that life presents us can become overwhelming. And when we disconnect ourselves from God we start to sink in the waters like Peter did when he was gazing upon Jesus while walking on water. We have to stay connected. Your phone won’t charge unless it’s connected to a power source. In the same way our spiritual lives require us to be connected to the power source which is God. Without Him we have no purpose, no joy, no energy, no strength, and no fulfillment. We must make it a habit to connect ourselves with God on a daily basis. You don’t need a large flame to start a fire. A small flame is enough to start a large fire.
Every day is a new opportunity from God to seek Him and get to know Him. Think about how many people didn’t wake up today to see another day. Now look at you and how blessed we are to have opened our eyes to a new day. God is good, and He’s not done working in you. Jesus said that apart from Him we can do nothing. How many times have we not tried to do things our way? We say we’re going to get far and succeed but eventually crumble under the stress and fatigue of trying to do things by ourselves. It’s not possible. And you might ask yourself; what about those that are successful without God? Doesn’t that contradict God’s word? Sooner a later a house’s foundation will be exposed. Jesus spoke of the parable of two men. One built his house upon sand and when the storm came it knocked it down. The other built it upon the rock and when the storm came it wasn’t moved.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. – Matthew 7:24-27
We have to build our homes upon the rock. Our projects, our lives, our families, everything must have the foundation of Jesus Christ the rock. Without Him our lives won’t have true meaning. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Me (John 14:6). The Bible says that while we have breath there’s hope. And that’s why God wants you to know that He’s not done with you. In the midst of your challenges and trials God still has His hand over you.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. – Isaiah 41:10
God is with you and if you feel like it’s not always easy, welcome to the Christian life. Jesus said that we would have to take up our cross every day (Luke 9:23). The Gospel is violent and Jesus is our greatest example. Before Jesus was crowned in glory He suffered the cross. We’re not Jesus but we can find comfort in knowing that we’re not alone in our suffering. Jesus paid a great price. He suffered the cross and was humiliated. But through it all He endured it with you in mind. God loves you.
You’re not worthless to God. To show you how much He loves you He endured the cross. Jesus’ words would mean nothing had His life ended at the cross. But the good news is that He rose from the dead on the third day. He lives and you and I have a living hope. Jesus said I will come back for you, so He will come back. Jesus said that in Me you have life, so in Him we have life.
I want to conclude with this. I was reading a great book by A.W. Tozer titled “The Pursuit of God.” Tozer said that God does not change. Why is that? A change means that something or someone goes from one condition to a better one or from one condition to a worse one. But God remains perfect at all times and that’s why He’s unchanging. God is the same today, from yesterday, and forever. God’s plans for you are still vigilant. Have faith and never lose your communion with Him. God’s timing is perfect so have patience. Keep fighting the good fight, love God, and watch what He’ll do in your life.
