Ancient ruins give us glimpses into its former beauty and greatness

Ancient ruins; I once read that looking at the individual is like looking at ancient ruins. The ruins of Greek and Roman archaeology give us a glimpse of its former beauty and grandeur. Men and women were made in God’s image and likeness. But because of our fallen condition we’ve come to be like those ruins. You can see glimpses of the beauty of its creation and former greatness but sin has separated us from that glory. Once the crowning jewel of creation, humanity’s fallen condition has left us with only glimpses of what it was and what it can be.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; – Romans 3:23
