Calling things that aren’t in faith
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. – Romans 4:17
Calling things that aren’t as if they were. A lot of times our eyes don’t see what we wish they’d see. Our families are in shambles, our jobs are going downhill, problems are everywhere, and there seems to be no way out. These and a host of other things usually result in our faith dampening and our love and joy turning into bitterness and anger. Before we know it we start to accept things as they are. But that’s not what God wants.
Walking by faith
I understand that our eyes see one thing, but the Bible calls us to walk by faith and not by sight. I’ve had moments of desperation. I’ve gone through situations that don’t seem to have a solution. But when I’ve come to God for help He’s been faithful. I’m not saying life is always perfect but the best thing we can do is always seek God.
God called out to darkness and said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. God told Ezekiel to speak to those bones and they will live. Ezekiel obeyed and when prophesied to the dry bones God brought life to them.
Start speaking life
Whatever problem your going through, no matter how big it seems, start to speak life to it. If you don’t feel strong start to say that you are strong. If you’re family seems to be going downhill start to speak life into your family. It’s faith that moves us to act.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1
You may not see the result right away but when we pray according to God’s will those words start a chain reaction. Today is a good day for us to start speaking to things that aren’t as if they were.
