Restart With God
The Bible says that God’s mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). Maybe yesterday wasn’t your day. Perhaps you’ve been going through a difficult time and haven’t been feeling great. Well, today marks a new beginning. Our eyes can attest to God’s word when we open them at the start of a new day. His mercy is new every morning, and this day offers us the opportunity to restart.
The Enemy Came to Destroy, But Jesus Came to Give Life
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. – John 10:10
The word tells us that the enemy came to steal, kill, and destroy but Jesus Christ came to give life and give life abundantly. Based on Scripture the enemies plans are not good towards us. We see it everyday, all around us: Broken lives, torn families, and people seeking pleasure in vices and addiction, and in a very subtle way the enemy is doing exactly what the word attributes him to. But there’s good news! Jesus Christ came to give life abundantly.
When Jesus came to earth more than 2,000 years ago it was not with the intention to condemn humanity but to save humanity. The devil will make you think otherwise. Thoughts of defeat, depression, that God can’t possibly save you are all lies.
The Enemy: Father of Lies
Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. – John 8:44
The devil is a liar by nature. If you’re trying to lift yourself up he’ll come into your thoughts and say that you can’t do it. But God’s mercy offers us an opportunity to restart. Nothing is impossible for God. If God created the heavens and the earth and sustains the universe and all creation by the power of His word, what can be impossible for God? Even the devil can’t do anything unless God permits it.
New Start in God
When we open our eyes, when we realize that Jesus Christ already paid the price, we have the ultimate motive to restart. God’s not looking at our past to condemn us.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. – John 3:17
Whatever happened yesterday can stay in the past. Today God offers us the opportunity to restart.
