Good morning! I hope you’re having a great day. Work is somewhat busy but I wanted to take some time to write on my down time. Speaking things that aren’t as if they were; that’s faith. We all go through problems and sometimes our lives don’t look good before our eyes. But God wants us to believe in Him during those rough patches. Remember that God is still sovereign. God is still the Creator of the heavens and earth. He’s still the all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent God. Meaning that if God wasn’t in control of your problems He simply wouldn’t be God.
Life and Death in the Power of the Tongue
When God took the prophet Ezekiel to the valley of dry bones He asked the prophet, “Will these bones live?” Ezekiel replied, “Only you know, God.” And it says that God then told Ezekiel to prophesy over the dry bones and so the prophet began to speak life over the bones. And suddenly the bones began to rumble and they began to form themselves into bodies. God had delegated authority and power to Ezekiel. You can read it in its entirety in Ezekiel 37:1-14.
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. – Hebrews 13:8
The Bible says that God doesn’t change. God has given you and me power and authority to speak life!
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. – Romans 4:17
Our words have power. I’m not sure what circumstance you’re going through but if you find yourself in a slump start speaking life over yourself and your situation. I’ve been there before too where I just feel overwhelmed with life. And it’s been extremely difficult. You start focusing more on your problems, anxieties, and fears that eventually you forget about God’s power. But we can’t let the enemy have his way with us. We have to get up and fight!
The Enemy Wants to Destroy You But God Wants to Give You Life
The enemy wants to steal your calling, he wants to destroy the plans that God has for you. My Pastor puts it this way; imagine yourself in a fight where you think both you and your opponent are throwing fists at each other. All of a sudden you start seeing cuts on you and blood begins to flow. You realize that he has a sharp object in his hand. This isn’t a fair fight. That’s how the enemy fights us. He’s not playing fair because the word says that he came to kill, steal, and destroy. But our God is greater! The Bible says that, “greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).”
If your eyes aren’t seeing what you want to see start declaring the promises of God over your life. In the beginning it says that God created something out of nothing by His word. If you feel weak start saying, “I am strong in Jesus Christ.” If you feel like your losing the battle start saying, “I am more than a conqueror in Jesus Christ.” The Bible says that what’s impossible for men is possible with God. Maybe through the lens of the world that problem has no solution. Maybe the world’s logic says there is no hope. But that’s where faith comes in because faith goes against the logic and ways of the world.
Don’t lose hope. I read a beautiful word the other day in Psalms;
Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. – Psalm 121:4
God is with you and He’s the one that fights our battles. When life isn’t going your way look at life through the lenses of faith. Start declaring a word over your life because Jesus said that if we had faith the size of a mustard seed we’d tell that mountain to move and it would move.
