Desiring Revival

Revival. What does it mean to you? For me it means being on fire for God. I’m not the holiest of christian’s but I think we can all examine ourselves personally and see where we stand with God. I know that I need more from God just as you, the reader, will know where you stand with God. Revival is something that separates us from the world. It’s easy to be a christian by name. But what about our actual spiritual lives? Without revival we’re empty. And I hope my generalization in using the terms “we” and “us” doesn’t take away from the transparency I hope to project on this website but I can’t help but feel like we’re all on this together. I’m not a perfect christian but I want to be a great man of God just like my hope is that all of you who read my content become the great women and men of God that God has called us to be. I’m no different from you and that’s why I include myself when I use the terms “we” and “us”. We all need more of God.

Fan the Flame in You

Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. – 2 Timothy 1:6

Other versions use the terms “kindle” and “fan into flame” the gift of God. The minute that we come to Christ we receive His free gift of salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:24). But unless your life ends the minute you receive Christ then your conversion is only the beginning of your new life here on Earth. God has placed gifts and talents in each one of us. I don’t know what your gifts and talents are but I know that you have them because that’s what the Bible says. Unfortunately the world is full of buckets of water that are ready to be poured on us at any moment. The fire that God has placed in us can dim, but we must never let it go out. On the contrary, we need to kindle the flame so that we can live the life God has planned for us.

Not everything is lost. God wants us to use those gifts and talents for His glory. Your gift is different from what I have and that’s why you’re unique. You’re special to God.

Saturate your Mind and Heart with God’s Word

I’m still reading a book by the late Billy Graham titled “The Journey.” There’s a line where he says, “Saturate your mind and heart with the promises of God’s word.” God’s word is powerful and I think that unfortunately we forget about that.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. – Romans 10:17

God’s word produces faith in us and strengthens us. Not only that but it also destroys sin. It’s no wonder why the Lord refers to it as a sword because it cuts the sin from our lives. I enjoy reading different books but I can’t help but feel like the only book that truly matters is God’s living word; the Bible.

God’s Grace is Still With Us

I want to encourage you to continue seeking God. Oftentimes we let things distract us from our true calling but we’re still on time. God’s grace is still with us. The Bible says that while we still have breath, there is hope. You and I are not on this Earth by accident. We have a purpose and the way we find out that purpose is by seeking Him in His Word and making a daily effort to commit our lives to Christ.
