Good morning everyone! I hope you’re having a great day so far and I just wanted to talk about us casting our worries in God’s hands. The Bible talks about not being anxious for anything but instead to cast our worries in God’s hands.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
I know that as humans we all face difficulties in life and life will be full of highs and lows. When worry comes to our life God wants us to cast our cares upon Him. It’s easy for worries to overwhelm us and to freeze us in fear or despair. But God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7
Remember that God is Sovereign
God wants us to cast our cares upon Him. Today is a great day to do just that. Whatever you’re going through be it problems, adversity, or struggle it’s important that we place it in God’s hands. Oftentimes when we focus too much on a problem we allow it to become bigger than God. When we do this we’re beginning to doubt God’s sovereignty. Remember that God is sovereign, He has no beginning and no end, He’s all powerful, all knowing, and omnipresent. It’s easy to forget these things though when we allow worries to overwhelm us.
Our confidence must be in God. Reminding ourselves of His sovereignty gives us the comfort of knowing that whatever we go through has been allowed by Him. And the Bible says that all things work for good for those that love Him.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
God’s Word is Truth
God is in control and if you’re going through uncertainty remind yourself that God is sovereign. Cast your cares upon Him because He cares about you. The enemy wants to beat us down and make us feel worthless. When the enemy begins to attack our mind we should run to God’s word and prayer. God’s word is truth and anything else outside of it is a lie.
Whatever your going through or perhaps you have dreams and goals in mind, place it in God’s hands. We all have need of God, myself included, and life without Him isn’t life at all. God’s arms are wide open today to receive you as you are. You don’t have to clean up and be a “good” Christian for God to accept you.
While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. – Hebrews 3:15
God is good and His mercy is everlasting. Our walk with Christ isn’t a sprint it’s a marathon that will have its up and downs but our eyes must be on the goal. Jesus said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).” Life won’t always be perfect and we’ll have our bad days but placing everything in God’s hands means we’ll have peace knowing that God is in control.
