Do Something for God Today

Revival in Christ, revival, today, do something today

Do something for God today! Not tomorrow, not next year, today! That’s one of the things that has been ringing in my mind lately and I want to encourage you to do something for God today. I used to feel like I wasn’t prepared or that my resources weren’t sophisticated enough. But then I remember reading something that said, “Use what God has already given you.” God has already equipped us. I don’t know exactly what talents or gifts you might have but I know that you have them. Each one of us has received talents and gifts from God. Again, I don’t know what they are, but I know we have them.

Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. – Ephesians 4:8

People in the world are chasing their dreams. They’re making use of their resources and doing big things. We may have access to those resources or we may not, but we have someone greater. When Jesus ascended to heaven He gave us gifts. Each one of us has something special on behalf of God. Some of us are good at construction, art, graphic design, make-up, preaching, teaching, and the list goes on and on. If you don’t know what gift or talent God has given you, ask Him. God is faithful and He’ll answer you and direct your steps. It may not always be a direct answer but God will guide us in the right way as long as we persevere.

Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. – Proverbs 16:3

This new year I want to take advantage of the symbolic fresh start. Last year was a great year when it comes to victory in Christ, but work wise it wasn’t a great year. I wasn’t consistent with my work but this year is going to be different. God has already given us the victory in Jesus Christ. We just have to truly believe that truth and walk in faith. If the Bible says that God will provide for our needs we have to believe it. I don’t want to sound like we should follow God for His blessings because that’s not the point. The point is to follow God for who He is. He’ll take care of the rest.
