God Will Make a Way

When all seems lost, God will make a way. Oftentimes difficult situations will make us doubt our faith. We become like Peter when he took his eyes off Jesus and began to focus on the storm around him. suddenly he began to drown. Life isn’t easy nor should we believe it ever will be. Jesus Himself said that we would experience tribulation, but to take courage, He has overcome.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. – John 16:33

Mistakes can really mess with us. Guilt and shame overtake us and we sometimes find ourselves trying to dig ourselves out of a hole we’ve dug for ourselves. But I think we have to continue to depend on God’s word. When we’re joyful or at least things are somewhat OK, we can easily declare God’s word. But just like we believe God is faithful when we’re feeling good, we must believe it when we’re feeling down. Otherwise, where is our faith?

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. – Hebrews 11:1

Faith calls us to believe in something we don’t see. But not only that, faith calls us to believe in something that goes completely against what we’re experiencing in the moment. If we’re having thoughts of hopelessness, faith tells us that there is hope. If we think that God won’t forgive us anymore, faith tells us that He does forgive a repentant heart. If we feel unprotected and alone, faith tells us that God is with us and that He loves us.

Faith is what pushes us to continue to fight regardless of our shortcomings. Faith is what encourages us to believe that God will make a way where there is none. Our faith is tested when we feel weak but that’s where God wants us to remember that His word is truth. Anything outside God’s word is a lie no matter how real it may seem.

We’re not perfect human beings. We make mistakes and we fall from time to time. But the problem isn’t necessarily falling, it’s refusing to get back up. Don’t let anything keep you down. Even if friends and family turn their back on you, God is still with you. Ask God for strength and seek refuge in Him. It doesn’t matter what how low you feel, you’ll always find a loving embrace in God.
