Yesterday we had an amazing service at church and God brought us a powerful message. Pastor Fernando Contreras preached on the topic of not letting anyone steal the design God has placed in you. God is the architect of our lives. He designed us and new us before we were even born. God already had your name written on the palm of his hand before your parents even thought of your name.

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. – Jeremiah 1:5

Because God is the designer of our lives that means we shouldn’t let others opinions of us affect us. The design is what the designer designed it to be. When people, even those close to you, tell you something that goes against God’s design, don’t listen to them. On the contrary rebuke those words just like Jesus did with Peter. Jesus was about to be handed over to be crucified. It was exactly what the Father send Him for. But the Bible says that Peter took Him aside and told Him to have compassion on Himself.

Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. – Matthew 16:22-23

Jesus knew that it wasn’t Peter that was talking to Him, but the devil himself. That’s why He didn’t rebuke Peter. He rebuked Satan. The enemy won’t come like they depict him in movies and drawings. He won’t approach you as a red figure with horns and a tail. The devil will approach you in the sweetest way possible even it means operating through loved ones. Don’t listen to him. You and I are not what the world says we are. We are what God has designed us to be; more than conquerors and children of the living God.

Jesus knew His design and that’s why He didn’t fall for Satan’s trap. The devil wasn’t looking out for Jesus, he was trying to destroy God’s design for Him. But Jesus knew who He was and in the same manner we should know who we are. The Bible says that knew you before you were born. Your name was already written on the palm of His hand.

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me. – Isaiah 49:16
