Morning Thoughts (7/1/19)

Good morning, reader! I hope you’re having a great start to your week. Like I mentioned in an earlier post; each morning offers a new opportunity from God. It’s a chance to do things differently. If you didn’t read the Bible or pray yesterday, today is a good day to start. If you sinned and feel terrible about it, today is a good day to ask for forgiveness from God. He’ll forgive you and offer you another opportunity.

The devil’s three main goals are to kill, steal, and destroy. My pastor gave us an illustration once. You have two men fighting and they’re exchanging blows. Suddenly, one starts to realize that he’s getting cuts over his body. He can’t explain why he’s bleeding. Then he realizes that his opponent has a knife in hand. He realizes that he’s not fighting fair. That’s how the enemy is. He’s not fighting a fair fight.

But the good news for us is that we already have the victory. Jesus gave us victory on the cross of calvary and He rose on the third day. This means that our hope isn’t in a dead God. Our hope isn’t a myth, it’s reality. Jesus Christ died for your sins and mine and resurrected, giving us a living hope. The bones of Muahammad and Buddah are still in their graves. But the tomb of Jesus Christ is empty.

Today is a good day to take advantage of the new opportunity God has given us. If you feel defeated, remember that God has already given you the victory. It doesn’t matter how deep of a hole you find yourself in, God can take you out. Joseph was thrown into a hole and then sold into slavery by own family. But it all served to fulfill God’s purpose in his life. Just like God took Joseph from slavery to a position as governor, God can do the same with you and I. For God, there is nothing impossible.
