Our service yesterday was amazing and I wanted to share a little bit about it. I also included the full preaching below so you can hear it in its entirety. My Pastor was talking about the touch that transforms your life. There were many examples shown from the Bible to talk about this topic. There’s a lot of church goers and people that say they know God. But there’s only a few that truly dare to touch God in a way that elicits a response from Him.
The woman in Mark 5:25-34 was suffering from extreme bleeding, a hemorrhage as it states in the New American Standard Bible. This woman had gone twelve years with this issue and had exhausted all of her efforts and money on medical treatments to no avail. One day she heard of Jesus walking through a crowd and risked it all. It says that the woman thought to herself that, “If I just touch His garments, I will get well.”
The Bible says that the woman touched Jesus’ garment and she was immediately healed. And Jesus turned around and asked His disciples, who had touched him? His disciples stated the obvious, everybody was touching Him since He was surrounded by a crowd of people. But that’s not what Jesus meant. Someone had touched Him differently to the point that power flowed out of Him. This woman saw Jesus as her last resort and did the unthinkable. She touched Him and was immediately healed.
God is looking for us to be like this woman. God is eager to have a relationship with us and wants to perform a miracle in our lives. We just have to be brave and risk it all like the woman did. She had spent all of her money on doctors and medicine and none of it had provided her with a real solution. That all changed when she dared to get close to Jesus and touch Him.
God hasn’t changed. The Bible says that He’s still the same God that healed that woman. Today, He can do the same thing for us. He can bless us with healing, strength, and prosperity. But God wants us to move in faith. I know that sometimes it’s easier said than done, but we can start today with a simple prayer. Wherever we are, we can ask God for His help. We can ask Him for the things we have need of. And most of all, we can thank Him because the Bible says that He is faithful to fulfill His promises.
