Human beings are imperfect. We stumble, we fall, and make mistakes. These imperfections can lead us to feeling insecure and guilty. Shame can easily fill our hearts and lead us into depression. It’s terrible, but it happens. But thankfully God is our helper. Jesus is God and He lived a normal human life like you and me. Perhaps it was different in many ways, but Jesus felt the same emotions we do and encountered experiences that we all live through. Because of this truth we have a God that is not alienated from our daily experiences, but on the contrary, we have a God that can identify with what we feel and go through. God can relate to us and that is why we can approach God in faith.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15

God knows what it’s like to experience hardship or the pain of losing a loved one. God knows what it’s like to come home from a long day’s work and feel tired. He understands the feeling of being rejected and being made fun of. He knows exactly how it feels to endure the harshness that this world provides. So whenever you feel alone and troubled by the cares of life, remember that God knows what you’re going through. You are not alone. If you don’t remember that God is with you, you’ll allow the enemy to make you feel alone and weak.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. – John 8:44

We can’t allow the enemy to have his way with us. The Bible says that he’s a liar by nature and there is no truth in him. Anything the enemy tells you is a lie no matter how real it might seem. That sin can be forgiven. and the tears in your eyes can be wiped away by the grace and mercy of God. The scarcity you’re experiencing can be replaced with the overabundance of the One who owns all the silver and gold. And the emptiness in your heart can be filled by the Presence of the One who created it. For God there is nothing impossible.

I want to remind you and myself today that God is real. What’s more is that God is on our side. Imagine having a malevolent God that didn’t know a thing about being human. That wouldn’t be so nice. But we do have a good God that does know what it’s like to be human. We can approach Him in faith today wherever we are. All you have to do is confess it with your mouth and believe in your heart. If you’re having a hard time believing, that’s okay. Ask God to help you believe. The fact that you make this request is evidence enough that God is already working in your heart. Remember that you are not alone and God loves you with an everlasting love.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16
