Life has a way of shaking us up. It almost feels like you’re experiencing different weather patterns. Some days you’ll experience the peace and tranquility of a nice sunny and cloudy day, while other days you might experience the harsh winds and rain of a thunderous storm. All these experiences, however, are meant to help us grow. Without them God wouldn’t be able to mold us into who He wants us to become.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
Storms in life aren’t easy to navigate. Uncertainties and fear can paralyze us and cause us to stop dead in our tracks. But God wants to operate in our lives in the difficult moments. That’s why depositing our faith in Jesus is so important. Everyone goes through problems, but those that come to Jesus realize that they aren’t facing those problems alone. In Jesus we have a faithful friend who cares about us deeply and wants us to succeed.
Success isn’t necessarily obtaining that coveted job you’ve always desired. Nor does it necessarily translate into wealth and prosperity. Although these desires and accomplishments are fine, what God really desires is for us to come to the full knowledge of His Son Jesus Christ. Through Jesus we are reconciled with God, have forgiveness of sins, and above all the salvation of our souls.
All the money in the world can’t buy us salvation. No matter how strong we are, we can’t save or heal those we love. It is only through the power of God that we can overcome and obtain these blessings. Depositing our faith in Jesus means surrendering ourselves to God’s will. It means we are trusting God to lead our lives instead of us leading it on our own. It takes a high level of trust, but when we deposit our faith in Jesus, we’re trusting a faithful and true friend.
