This was a powerful preaching I saw a couple days ago and I wanted to share it with you. Pastor Samuel Rodriguez reminds us that we are clay in the potter’s hands. What lifted me up the most is when he said that the potter never runs out of clay. God never runs out of love, grace, and mercy for you. His love is still pouring out even in our darkest of times.
The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and, behold, he wrought a work on the wheels. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel. – Jeremiah 18:1-6
God’s word brings comfort and gives us hope. That text in particular is uplifting because of the visualization that God gave Jeremiah. The vessel in the potter’s hands fell apart. But instead of casting it away, the potter simply began to work on it again. Sometimes we feel broken and our mistakes can overwhelm us. But God reminds us that just like the potter began to reconstruct the broken vessel, He can do the same thing with us.
I hope the video encourages you. I hope God’s word can fill you with a sense of hope and renewed strength. You are not alone. God is with you and He is still perfecting His work in you. No matter how deep your valleys may be or how dark your night is; light comes in the morning. Just like Pastor Samuel Rodriguez said in the video; it’s morning time.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. – Psalm 30-5
