Hello and God bless you. I haven’t published anything these past few months and that’s because I’ve been off at Basic Combat Training. Last year I decided to live out a dream and joined the United States Army as part of the National Guard. I’ve been busy training and have had little to no time to use this platform to reach others for Christ. But the mission remains the same and that is to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.” – Psalms 23:1-6
I have a lot to share but don’t have the time to do it right now. Once I get settled I plan on sharing my experience at Basic Combat Training (BCT) and how God demonstrated His unrelenting love and faithfulness. With God’s help and with the help and encouragement of family and friends, I can proudly say that I am an American Soldier.
It’s been a long road. Being away and isolated from the world has not been easy. It’s been a difficult process. Coming in to training my relationship with God wasn’t so good. I hadn’t been reading the Word or praying. I had little communion with God. To be frank, my relationship with God was faltering. But that’s how I viewed my relationship to Him. What I learned at BCT is that God’s faithfulness far outweighs our unfaithfulness.
I’m grateful because God has been good to me and I know that He’s been good to you to. If you’re reading this, you’re clearly alive. I have yet to meet a dead person that can go online and read a blog post. What I’m getting at is that you and I are still breathing and the Bible says that as long as we’re breathing, there is hope. There is still hope for us in Jesus Christ.
I’m proud of what I accomplished at BCT with God’s help. I cried at my soldiers ceremony as Drill Sergeants put a U.S. Army patch on our uniform that can only be worn once you’ve successfully completed all of the required training. I earned that patch and that brings a great sense of pride to my life. I owe my success to God and my family. As we marched with all our gear during our last field training exercise I promised God that I would give Him all the glory for helping me succeed. With His help I intend to keep that promise.
I wanted to to write this post to update all Revival in Christ readers and followers, and to stay true to my promise; to give God the glory He deserves. I hope this updates finds you well. I’ll be sharing a more detailed update when I get more time. God is good and His mercy is everlasting. I sincerely want you to know that God loves you and that His love for you greatly outweighs the sins and hardship we encounter in life. God bless you!
