God is Perfecting His Work

God is perfecting His work in you. I don’t know if you’ve ever felt like throwing in the towel, but I know I have. Sometimes we don’t see the finish line and we get discouraged. But, God wants to remind us today that His word in Philippians 1:6 is true; God will perfect the work that He started in you.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: – Philippians 1:6

The good news is that God does not change. The Bible says that He’s the same yesterday, today, and forever. Even though times change and trends change, God doesn’t change. If you look around you you’ll notice that several things have changed over the course of the years. Certain people are probably not in your life anymore. You can even look at the mirror and realize that even you are changing physically. Things change and people change, but God doesn’t change.

That’s good news for us because it means that what God told you yesterday, last month, a year ago, ten years ago, is still there and it hasn’t changed. The promises that God has made to you are unchanging and are being fulfilled in your daily life. Just because the sun didn’t shine today doesn’t means God’s love for you has changed. A preacher once said that God doesn’t change because change signifies an increase or decrease in someone or something’s attributes, skills, and personality. God can’t be more good or less good. He’s unchanging and perfect in all His ways.

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. – Hebrews 13:8

God doesn’t change and He’s still perfecting His work in you. Regardless of your mistakes, God’s love towards you is still enduring. That’s why the Bible says that nothing or no one can separate us from the love of God. DON’T… GIVE… UP. The journey isn’t easy nor is it a sprint. Life and our walk with Christ is a marathon and like any marathon there are moments where we will grow tired and discouraged, but we have to persevere. Our goal is to reach the finish line and when we do we’ll be able to look back at our road with joy and satisfaction. You might make it with your fair share of bruises and scars but you’ll be able to say, “It was all worth it.”

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
